Form a board of directors: Establish a board of directors to provide governance and oversight for the organization. The board should consist of individuals with diverse skills and experience who are committed to the mission of the organization.
Register your organization: Register your organization with the Registrar of Companies at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. This process involves obtaining a certificate of incorporation, tax identification number, and other relevant licenses.
Develop a plan: Create a detailed plan that outlines how your organization will achieve its mission and goals. This plan should include information on funding, program development, staff management, and volunteer management.
Secure funding: Research funding options and develop a fundraising plan to support your organization’s activities. This may include grants, donations, and partnerships with other organizations.
Develop programs and services: Develop programs and services that align with the organization’s mission and goals. Ensure that the programs are well-designed, evidence-based and effective in achieving the intended impact.
Build relationships: Build relationships with key stakeholders such as government officials, other non-profit organizations, and members of the community.
Evaluate and improve: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of your organization’s programs and services, and make adjustments as needed.
