TIP 1 – Do your research and establish the salary range for your job and industry. You can use the website PayScale.com to research salaries based on industry and sector.

TIP 2 – Have a figure in mind for the salary you want. You may also choose a baseline salary you would be prepared to go down to at a push.

TIP 3 – Give examples of previous outstanding work performance as this will help to convince the hiring manager you are worth your desired salary.

NOTE: Examples of where you have helped the company increase sales, save money, or enhanced customer service levels are all good examples to use when answering the interview question what are your salary expectations?

TIP 4 – Practice your answer in front of a friend or relative, or mirror before you attend the interview. You must be confident in your answer and the salary you want!
