WHY THE INTERVIEWER IS ASKING YOU THE QUESTION, WHY HAVE YOU CHANGED JOBS SO FREQUENTLY?
Well, they are asking you this tough interview question because they are concerned that you won’t stay working for them long, and there may be issues with your ability to commit to one company.
They might think that you don’t get on with your co-workers, or your manager, or you might be the type of person who gets bored easily. Therefore, you need to be very careful how you answer this question.
LET ME NOW TELL YOU THE 3 THINGS YOU MUST INCLUDE IN YOUR ANSWER TO THE INTERVIEW QUESTION, WHY HAVE YOU CHANGED JOBS SO FREQUENTLY AND I WILL THEN GIVE YOU THE PERFECT ANSWER.
NUMBER 1 – Is to make sure you ACKNOWLEDGE and APPRECIATE how the interviewer might be feeling. Do not be defensive when they ask you why you’ve had so many jobs in a short space of time. Instead, tell the interviewer you understand WHY they have concerns, and you appreciate how this must look from their perspective. This will help to build trust!
NUMBER 2 – Next, give a reason or reasons WHY you have changed jobs so frequently. Perfectly good reasons for changing jobs are the fact you haven’t yet found an employer who has a WORKPLACE CULTURE you want to stay working in. Another good reason is to say you don’t feel your skills and qualities have been fully utilized yet, and you are looking for the right company.
NUMBER 3 – Is to make sure you REASSURE the hiring manager that you won’t be moving on from their company anytime soon if they hire you. You can say that this time, you have researched their company in detail, you are attracted to their values, work ethic, and track record of achievement, and you are confident they are the right fit for your skills, knowledge, and experience.
